Is this offensive?

This cartoon image provided by the New York Post appeared in the Post's Page Six Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009. The cartoon, which refers to Travis the chimp, who was shot to death by police in Stamford, Conn. on Monday after it mauled a friend of its owner, drew criticism Wednesday on media Web sites and from civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton.

Here is my response:
I totally agree with you, this paper has been running too long just to up and print something as dumb as what America seems to believe. Its not even America as a whole, somebody that wanted to be offended was and so they want everybody else thats black to sympathize with them. My take is whoever thought the paper was implying that the President was the animal, wanted President Obama to be that monkey. Things are always taken out of context and for what? The World has finally recognized us for trying to be an equal country, we finally see change and what do we do? Overreact to everything and at the end of the day, we are still a country that is being ran by probably the best man in the world. I would further recommend that we as a whole, African American body, focus on the good things that is going on and not focus on the negative. Thinking like that would have never freed the slaves, it was when they started fighting for freedom and dreaming about it did they actually achieve freedom.
